Welcome back to My Indian News. In this blog, I will be writing about the most Indian Foods. From South Indian to North Indian Food, From Punjabi to Bengali Food, From Biryani to Kebabs. This blog has it all.

Before I want you to know, that I am from North India, I am not fully aware of all foods that are famous in India, so I may miss some of the foods. I haven’t explored all the cuisines of India yet.

Famous Indian Foods

Here are some famous Indian Foods, all these foods are mouth-watering, you would really want to try them at least once in your life.

Chole Bhature

This Made in Heaven Food combination consists of Bhature’s and Chole, you can find this dish everywhere from Streets to Hotel. This is easily one of the most popular dishes in India.

Samosa

Made from flour filled with mashed potatoes which have a lot of spices, served with a chutney made of Dhaniya ( Coriander ).

Chaat

One of the most famous dishes of India, Made from potatoes and many spices and sauces is put on it before being served.

Panipuri\Golgappe.

This street food unites all the states of India. It is one of the best street foods in India.

Kulche

Bread stuffed with different types of mouth-watering fillings, such as mashed potatoes, veggies, cottage cheese ( Also Known as Panner in India).

Jalebi

They sweet syrup-filled rings, one can not get enough of it. It is basically the King of Sweets in India.

U.P., Bihar, Delhi, Punjab are the places where they are famous.

Biryani

It is a rice dish, which has pieces of chicken, this dish has a very big fanbase in India. Every Non-Veg Lover should try this dish.

  • Hydrabadi Biryani
  • Kolkata Biryani

Kebab

This dish is made from marinated meat, it is very delicious, everybody loves a platter of juicy kebabs with chutney and Roti ( Indian Bread ).

Parathas

Every Indian has eaten paratha once in their lifetime, it can be filled with cottage cheese, veggies or can be eaten without any fillings with any Sabji.

Dhokla

Dhokla, a Gujrati Dish made from Besan is famous all over India and for good reason.

Chai

This one drink is perfect, just add Chai to any dish, a perfect meal will be made, except for sweets, obviously. Almost Everybody drinks Chai in India.

Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Kolkata, are very famous dishes in India.

Dosa

This is made from fermented rice, served with sambar and chutney, this crisp and delicious dish is one of a kind.

Idli

This is very similar to Dosa, not the shape or the size, idli is also of the most famous South-Indian Dishes.

Vada Pav

Vada Pav is burger buns and deep-fried potato patties, this mouth-watering and tasty dish is very famous, especially in Maharastra.

Pav Bhaji

Well Well, personally this is one of my favorite dishes, literally, I’m gonna say, wherever you come from you’ll definitely love this dish.

Kachori-Sabji

Kachori and Sabji, you can eat this dish anytime, anywhere, at any venue or occasion, whether it is a party at a hotel or a Bhandara at a Temple.

Chicken Tikka

Do I even need to tell? I Guess No.

Litti/Batti Chokha

Litti is made from dough balls, and Chokha is mostly made from Brinjals. This Dish originated from Bihar and they never fail to surprise us.

Momos

Small, little pieces of flour and veggies, which never fail to bring a smile to our faces.

Paneer Ki Sabji

Well, the King of Sabjis, rules over the hearts of millions, my favorite dish, I personally recommend you to try Panner ki Sabji with Butter Naan, it’s just Yum.

Aam ka Aachar

Every Indian Household has a jar full of mango pickles, and for good reason.

Hari Chutney

The partner of Indian Snacks. Used as a dip and has a dark green texture.

Kadhi

A popular dish made from yogurt and besan and is worth it.

Pan

No Party is complete without these little green parcels.

Pulao

Pulao is basically rice with all kinds of pieces and veggies, can be eaten with almost every Indian Sabji, from Panner ki Sabji to Butter Chicken, everything.

Butter Chicken

Butter Chicken is buttery, tasty, and mouth-watering, they are the favorite of almost every non-veg lover.

Upma

Made from cream wheat, also known as suji in India, it is perfect for breakfasts.

Poha

Poha is flattened rice, with a lot of species is a light breakfast.

Aamras

Indians and Mangoes, no explanation needed.

Gajar ka Halwa

This dish is made from carrots and dry fruits, this dish is a favorite all over our country.

Kaju Katli

My favorite Indian Sweet, all the people who have a sweet tooth must try it once, I am telling, you would want to eat more.

Rossogolla

The most famous Indian Sweet by far according to me, and there is a reason that it is number one.

Gulab Jamun

Made from milk, the shape is very similar to Rossogolla and is very sweet.

Ingredients used in Indian Foods

Basically, I am gonna write about the ingredients which are often used in Indian Foods.

  • Onions
  • Potatoes, Indians love potatoes.
  • Cinnamon

To be honest with you all, I didn’t know the name of these ingredients till yesterday.

Conclusion

I have missed many dishes and ingredients, I know I have not covered even 10 percent of the dishes and Ingredients. You can also try to make them using websites like — Dassana’s Veg Recipes, they provide proper recipes for beginners.
